Thank you to everyone that showed up yesterday. It was sunny and beautiful. We all met along I-25 and continued
down to exit 182 near Castle Rock and proceeded to Dakan Rd. only to find a sign letting us know that Rampart Range
trails were closed to motorized travel except for snowmobiles. We also had a chance to speak with one of the local
residents that informed us that "yes" the trail is still closed and thanked us for being able to read and
comprehend the sign. After a short discussion of what to do a few enduro guys came along and said the trail is open
as of saturday morning per the forest service, so with that sound advice we traveled to the North trail entrance to
Hidden Valley which was a good decision as this allowed us to travel up the trail rather than down.
The trail is short a half mile at best but it was over all worth the trip as you can see. This will be a great
starting point for R.R.R. or Dakan mountain trail. Although the stockers will not be able to make it with out
assist we can get everyone thru right "Baby Hee Haw", Thanks to Tug and a strap.
